There are many internal groups across Microsoft with an interest in education, these are brought together under the leadership of the Subsidiary Microsoft Partners In Learning Education Alliance Leadership Team. This team, under the guidance of the Education Team Leader, are responsible for ensuring Microsoft's success in approaching education as "One Microsoft", executing co-ordinated plans, exceeding our customers expectations and delivering against our goals of transforming education, fostering local innovation and creating jobs and opportunities.

What are key initiatives and challenges facing this role over the next six months to three years?
This leadership position, where Partners in Learning commitments exist, will primarily be responsible for delivering on the Microsoft Partners in Learning program and growing share of Microsoft products. In addition and especially where there are no Partners in Learning commitments, this role will provide strategic leadership to the subsidiary for Education, management and execution of Microsoft plans and other Citizenship programs across the subsidiary. It will be the internal leader and external face of Microsoft's plans to help transform education and execute on its vision of " Help students and educators throughout the world realize their full potential"

Responsibility

Execute on Partners In Learning Memorandum of Understanding, including Shape the Future and Public Private Partnerships, IT Academy & Certification as appropriate, commitments (where these exist).

Drive share growth:
  • Prioritize Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES, formerly CASA2010) as our primary institutional licensing vehicle and measure of institutional share whilst meeting revenue (EPG & SMS&P) targets inc creating/leveraging a partner eco-system of Authorized Education Resellers and Solution Provider Partners to act as virtual sales force.
  • Work with SMS&P to maximize breadth engagement, and map customer requirements to partner solution areas to deepen engagement and drive deployment.
  • Drive Windows7, Office 2010, Web Apps & Live@edu Student Share via institution and verified academic retail.
  • Drive Live@edu for students and BPOS or Exchange for faculty/staff wins vs. Google in managed accounts and via telesales & through-partner activities; engage in 100% of OpenOffice hotspot countries, using appropriate programs (Project Umbrella Perpetual or Annuity).
  • Scale to Win TECH students - Work with DPE to Create scale via: Imagine Cup (perception, registration, top stories); DreamSpark for students and educators, and MSDNAA for departmental tools access
  • Work with C&O to Land Student offers and connect Microsoft with Youth.
  • Localize & launch www.microsoft.com/student , increase engagement in /student communities; drive active Live IDs via Live@edu usage and Windows Live Services with to/through marketing programs
  • Promote IT Academy, MS Certification for workforce readiness, and the E-Learning Software Assurance Benefit within volume license agreements to accelerate Windows 7 and Office 2010 deployments

  • Own our approach to Citizenship as a vehicle for perception building and gaining share by owning the overall Subsidiary strategy and leveraging supporting resources and budget towards the successful execution of agreed Citizenship programmes.
  • Own our approach to education elites engagement including segmentation, engagement map, Elites Relationship Management (ERM) & leveraging messaging and communications resources Align to one Education messaging framework to local education and government priorities and support the subsidiary General Manager to execute on Microsoft’s vision within the country with education as core element.
  • Represent the subsidiary as education industry spokesperson for all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive Microsoft share among educators including driving educator and school community activities :
  • Increase educator adoption, share and usage
  • Improve educator readiness and certification
Requirements
  • 5 - 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.)
  • Master’s Degree
