Senior Electrical Engineer at WTS Energy

WTS Energy is an independent International Oil and Gas Company operating in West Africa. One of Africa’s largest integrated energy solutions providers with a proud heritage is recruiting to fill procurement and contracts manager. WTS Energy is seeking to hire  below position for one of its client who is an international Oil & Gas operating company.

• To provide support on Production platform.
• To act as a focal point/technical authority for electrical engineering questions throughout all phases of engineering design, construction and offshore installation, commissioning and operation
• To provide electrical engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
• To act as Company authority for the review of Design Bases, design drawings, specifications, etc.
• To act as required as the Company representative (electrical) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes
• To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions related to electrical design.
• To assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the electrical engineering aspects of Facilities design.
• To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
• To assist in the development Nigerian electrical engineers

• Zero LTIs.
• On time delivery of work-scope.
• Maintain up to date facilities electrical installations database.

• Electrical Engineer will have minimum twenty (20) years relevant experience with an oil industry
• Must have worked in as a electrical engineer/senior electrical engineer for an Operator and have been involved in both onshore and offshore projects
• Must be used to working in a multidisciplinary environment
• University Engineering Degree (Electrical).
• Good understanding of project management controls and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of consistency and accuracy.
• Solid working knowledge of oil and gas industry electrical engineering codes and standards.
• Have thorough knowledge of the design of onshore and offshore facilities
• Have the ability to utilise common electrical design software for systems design and analysis
• To provide input to Front End/Conceptual Engineering studies with respect to electrical design aspects
• To establish and maintain a facilities electrical installations database
• Provide input to Integrity Management and Planned Maintenance planning
• Sound understanding of HSES management systems and the application thereof, particularly with respect to design integrity and safety.
• Ability to manage interfaces both internally and externally with contractors
• Reporting skills with the ability to write well structured and easily understood reports
• Able to prepare and deliver effectively presentations for information dissemination both internally to management and externally to 3rd parties
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal with a broad spectrum of cultural and organisational styles
• Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint).

• Work schedule: 6:2 weeks.
• Initial Contract of 12 months (Option to extend).
