Oando Nigeria Plc is recruiting a qualified candidate to fill the vacant position of a Tax Manager.

Job Title: Tax Manager


Department: Finance

Job Summary

  • The Manager will ensure that within the Group’s Corporate Responsibilities, a proper Corporate Income Tax (CIT) position is reflected in all our CIT-tax returns as well as our financials.
  • He/ She will also ensure the appropriate CIT-payments are made in time and an open relationship is maintained with all CIT-authorities.
  • The Manager will review potential Tax planning opportunities, and implement if it can be done in all openness and if it is a very sound opportunity.
  • He/She will advise Group Management on tax implications of proposed business arrangements.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper Tax and related Statutory payments are made in time
  • Ensure the proper Tax and related Statutory returns are filed in time
  • Mange tax audits, and Tax exposures in general
  • Within the Groups corporate responsibilities, realize tax planning opportunities
  • Supervise Operating Company’s tax compliance covering all taxes related to Federal, State and Local Governments
  • Review contracts and agreements drafted by Operating Company’s and other departments for tax efficiency
Key Performance Indicators
Timely and accurate Tax reporting and filing supported by well-organized documentation adhering to Tax agencies policies.
Timely and accurate application of new Tax laws and accounting developments in a strategic manner

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience (must have attained Senior Manager position) in a recognized Tax Practice firm.
  • Must possess specialty in Tax compliance and advisory skills
  • An excellent academic background essential, with a minimum of 2:1, or equivalent from a leading university
  • Post undergraduate qualification or degree i.e. ACCA, ACA, ACTI or FCTI
  • Ability to think strategically about business issues in a transaction
  • Strong organizational, communication, verbal and written skills
  • Modeling /Valuation: Ability to identify key drivers, reconcile output from different models

Knowledge & Skills Required
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong sense of commercial awareness
  • Upstream and Downstream Oil & Gas industry Business Dynamics
  • Strategy Development, Articulation and Execution
  • Power point presentation for effective dissemination of information and decision-making
  • Oral & Written Communication skills
