Job Position: Head of Training

Location: Lagos

Job Description
  • Draft an effective training strategy and develop the training department
  • Lay down the skill set requirements for job positions for clients in the area of both core technical and soft skills
  • Develop enhancement programmes for each type of skill
  • Develop training strategies for prospective and existing clients
  • Develop business relationships with clients and ensure we win business deals
  • Set up in-house training facility for classroom training for clients
  • Create and update paper and electronic versions of manuals and training materials including trainer guides, Training video or audio, participant materials and evaluation systems for clients.
  • Ensure regular updating of the materials according to world class standards
  • Set up systems and processes for on-going feedback to determine gaps or skill enhancement requirements and conduct skill enhancement sessions for clients
  • Promote the culture of self-motivated learning in clients' organizations
  • Set up the culture of "train the Trainer" to have a multiplier effect and speedier implementation of the training programmes for clients
  • Develop and manage a strong training team (i.e. hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, etc.) ensuring that appropriate subject knowledge and skills are developed within each individual.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with education institutes and independent network of external trainers for on-going training by specialist where required
  • Conduct E learning and E testing programmes for clients on a regular basis
  • Work closely with the Human Resources team for planning career development and enhancing employee ownership
  • Plan and conduct productivity enhancement workshops with measurable output
  • Develop and maintain international affiliations for Weco Academy in line with world class standards.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A first degree in Education, Adult training or equivalent is a must.
  • A minimum of 1-4 years post-graduate experience in a similar position
  • A Masters Degree in training related subject is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of ICT business environment.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in designing and creating corporate training programs for different sectors of industries
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in conducting trainings to end users and management
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in managing functional and technical training teams
  • Track record of managing training programs and institutes
  • Demonstrated experience in training needs analysis and curriculum development
  • Must have an excellent understanding of business development management
  • Ability to translate, articulate, simplify and communicate complex business and technical functions to audiences with different level of expertise.
  • Must have superior organization skills
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with regular changing priorities.
